Oro is the name I have given to the good version of Fleetway Super Sonic.
The backstory isn't fleshed out, but more or less, he somehow manages to separate himself from the evil Super Sonic in the same sense Super separated himself from the original Sonic.
What makes Oro's separation strange is he didn't just become an individual as Super had, but actually gained only half a heart - that is, his heart is made of pure light, all the good of Super now incarnated in him. Naturally leaving the other Super's heart as pure darkness, beyond redemption!
This has bestowed upon him an odd emotional state. He cannot feel hate, or rage, or be genuinely selfish. However, he has memories of the other Super Sonic, Ebony, and Sonic himself, and this allows him to feign emotions he does not have, allowing him to act bitter or hateful if necessary without genuinely feeling it.
Physically, Oro's below expectations. It is easy to assume he'd have all the range of powers as the first time he surfaced - as in, when Super Sonic turned good and retained full use of his abilities - but most of Super's power was invested in his evil side. As such, Oro only has a fraction of it. He can outmatch the average Mobian with ease, as all other heroes can, but could run into trouble against more talented opponents.
Oro's defining trait besides his good heart, however, is his ability to absorb a fair amount of chaos energy without being corrupted by it. While enough would be able to temporarily possess him, he remains good at his core, and his very nature as a component of a super being gives him a further boost. He regularly consumes chaos energy in small doses to sustain his life and give him that extra boost when necessary. However, he remains true to his statement he made as part of the original Super Sonic - he doesn't use his powers because he fears what they could do to his mind.
One talent Oro picked up was magic, refined by training with Ebony. While he seems hopeless in much of it, his rate of learning fire spells is incredible. He uses this as a non-chaos based method of defense, but still prefers not to use anything but his fists if possible.
He also seems to have a special connection to Ebony, Super Sonic, and Sonic himself, his soul having attached itself to all three at some point. As such, he has a limited ability to sense them and what they are feeling.
Personality-wise, Oro detests violence. He would much rather discuss things over a cup of tea then throw a single punch, and he is very fond of strategic retreats accordingly. He is, however, willing to fight if there's no hope for a diplomatic solution, though very rarely goes all out, for he cannot stand the thought of hurting someone. He is also very polite and kind, to the point Sonic himself would state that if Oro was any sweeter, he'd give everyone diabetes.
Oro is able to feign emotions and lie with good intent, however, but he normally uses this to help the cause of good or possibly pull a prank. (A dark joke he frequently indulges in is ruffling his fur and making his eyes crazed, to make people think the evil Super Sonic has returned)
As for his identity, Oro made a point to drop the mantle of Super Sonic. Super reminded him of the demon, and Sonic made him feel as if he was in the blue hero's shadow, not truly free of him. With a few cosmetics and magic, he altered his appearance - his fur has minimal fuzziness compared to the evil Super's, while he also ditched Sonic's trademark outfit for a variety of black and red themed sorcerer clothes. He retains Super's fangs and dark outlines around his eyes, and with the black and red outfits, tend to make people think he is still evil. His eyes also are normal, albeit of a red color, or failing that, very small swirls, rather than the crazed look Super enjoys.
Oro cuts his spines short so as to make his choice of clothing simpler, and to make himself more distinctive - he does this regularly as his chaos-enhanced physique tends to grow them back at a rapid rate.
When angered or absorbing chaos energy, his fur can gain a more chaotic, messy appearance reminiscent of Super's. His eyes, however, never become the same as Super's unless he himself was to be temporarily driven crazy.
His choice of name is a simple one. As part of his quest to truly become his own persona, the good Super Sonic donned the name Ouroboros, or Oro for short. The choice of name seems odd, but it was quite clear to him - Ouroboros, the serpent that devours its own tail, the serpent that represents cycles. Oro's life has been one of a constant cycle between good and evil, chaos and order, reason and insanity. He detests being called "Super," except by Ebony, in which case he accepts it as a pet name.
Trivia: "Oro" is also Spanish for "Gold."

Yes I know he's a recolor but that's somewhat the point.
