I stayed away from punchy kicks and overcompressed fat bass lines on purpose. Being blatantly honest, I do love the old-fashioned disco themes, but what's played in (non-oldie-)discos in 2011 sounds pretty much all the same for me - maybe because they all do follow the same guidleines.
