I'm not sure how the darkness happened.
I just had the idea of a guy being stuck in a hall of mirrors and turning into a black cat by accumulating to much bad luck by breaking them.
But then I had to have a reason for him to be lost in a house of mirrors so got a villain.
But then I had to have a reason for the villain to do stuff.
And then somehow that happened instead of the original silly one I had planned! *flails*
