My animation instructor, who did the famous Simaba running shot, in college taught me the importance of silhouettes in animation. Here is a collage off all the Characters and memorable locations from all three films.

I applied the same effect to the Hyenas on the far right. In odd way this is the base setup of how Disney applied 3d to The Lion King 3d.

I think the Silhouettes they created for for the first Lion King is a power full image. I wanted to take it a step farther and create some depth to the African land.
