I wasn't really planning to post this page, but after i finished inking it I thought the character interactions without the dialogue looked kind of interesting. Generally Salem doesn't have much of a sense of humor (he's not the type of person who watches comedies), but every once in a while he'll find something funny, even if it's not intended to be so. His laughter does NOT amuse the good doctor.
This was done mostly with a brush and FW black and white ink. Some details added with a crowquill pen. The large blank areas are where dialogue will be going. There's no background in this because the establishing shots were on the previous page.

All my recent comics exist as digital files (for printing) but they're very large (600 DPI). Since I can't mail you a flash drive or a DVD, I don't know how I would get them to you. For an official downloadable version, you'd need to ask
Fuzzwolf, since he's handling the publication.

Yes, he is very bad news. While he's not evil in the same way someone like Salem is, in that he doesn't get enjoyment from hurting people, he does have a complete disregard for the effects his actions have on others. What makes him probably more feared than anyone else in the city is that it's his self-appointed mission in life to perform bizarre medical experiments on people, generally while they're still alive. So if you're captured by Salem, the worse you could expect is him amusing himself for a couple of days before he gets bored and kills you. If you're unfortunate enough to be captured by the good doctor, you could be kept alive for weeks or months. It's not pretty.

One thing I have always wondered with Jack Salems world - how are hybrids biologically possible? I mean, how can his parents (a cat and a sable from memory) have children which are presumably fertile?
Nothing wrong with hybrids, but I likes there to be a reason for such things to be possible, rather than hand waving away the issue of biology and genetics.
But that's just me!

All the nonhumans have the same artificial origin, so in a basic way their DNA is similiar enough to allow interbreeding. The ones that are close to human in form can also interbreed with humans, since human DNA was used as a model. There are also creatures that are engineered to manipulate DNA, although that was never extensivley covered in any of the stories. Without that DNA manipulation, crosses from wildly different types of creatures can come out very odd.
It's a very material-specific method. I lay down the lines for anything that's going to be inked black with a crowquill. Then I paint over it with a brush. The crowquill inking is very slightly darker than the brush, so in bright light you can see the black lines under the ink, and I just ink over those with a brush or crowquill. The method works because the ink I use is not water-soluable, so I can ink over it with white.
Since most of the furry artists (those who even bother to ink something hardcopy) use Sharpies or other brush pens, this method wouldn't work for them.
Yes, I can ink digitally, but it's much slower. Since all the toning and lettering is done in Photoshop anyways I can always fix stuff that needs fixing then.

As i was wrote before, if to judge on this page, i really think your drawing skills goes better.
I don't know, by what mr. Salem is so amused, but i think it was something really evil!
And i also think, mr. Salem's smile on the third panel here, should be more large-toothed, like on the second panel of page 232 in "Blacklight".
