It's called the uncanny valley effect. It is extremely well done, but something about our brains detects something to be slightly "wait...huh?"

Well I know what the uncanny valley is, I was just referring to the fact she made the head a little too big. She already fixed that issue by the next manip, though. :V

Uncanny valley has no effect for me here. For me, that only applies to dolls and I don't get why people apply it to anthros. The human-likeness may be what makes an anthro, but there's way too much of the actual animal or otherwise non-human part for it to apply in my personal opinion.

I think the best part to me would be the arm, that's what looks most realistic. However, I do like the detail on the tail.

Well the arm is the best because it's the only thing I had something to go off of. I don't normally have a tail or ears to trace. :P

I think what she means is that it's blended really well, kind of like how the white ring closest to the tip of the tail is. Looks more real and less painted.

I think you did a remarkable job. The thumbnail confused me a bit at first. I thought it was going to be a Second Life picture, then I noticed that it looked way too good to be SL. I actually had to stop and stare for a bit before I realized it was a photo manipulation. Very nicely done.

For a simple manipulation, this is nice work... Honestly, I love seeing furry characters do things of a "common-era" human-like nature in pictures, and this picture takes that idea even a step further! ^^

I think the selling point is really that you're getting your values right. A lot of people don't get that when they do these and so it doesn't look like the painting is realistic or that the illustrated character is living in the environment. Again great job!
