I know it isn't really a specifically furry painting--it's actually a piece I did for a high end, laser cut, wooden puzzle which as far as I know, never sold a single piece. *sigh* BUT, it does have a werewoof, a dragon, some bats and best of all, every icon of the holiday I could think of! It's a fun piece and I thought you might all enjoy using it as a Halloween wallpaper!
Let me know whether your fave Halloween creature/monster is represented and what I might have missed. I know I'm missing slaher-movie characters. It's more of a classics creatures feature.
Anyway--enjoy! And Harpy Halloween!!!

Thanks--yeah, this is definitely pretty "old school". It's all acrylics--accept the background is actually digital. The puzzle was supposed to be shaped like the painting, so the area behind the image itself I added later for the wallpaper. On the original board it's white. Also, it was made to be very accessible because of the type of company it was done for originally, so I went with a more cartoony style to give it an all-ages appeal. At least, that was the idea...
It was several years ago--and they were pretty expensive. Around $75! Like I said--wooden, and laser-cut pieces! Probably why it didn't sell--these were puzzles for older adults and this design was just too "young" I think. I DID get a copy, but I gave it to one of my parents for a Christmas present.
That's just the best thing ever. <3
Love all the characters and little details. A shame it didn't do well. Did you do it for some company? If you hold the rights to the finished illustration, perhaps you could at least use it for something like simple prints, postcards or some such.
Did you add that glow in some places with ( digital ) airbrushing?

Thanks--I'm glad you like it! ^0^ I did it specifically for a company to use, but that was a long time ago--and I own the copyright. And yes, I did add a little glow to the digital version in Photoshop--along with the background color. Since the original was meant to be cut out, I couldn't have any glow that went outside the border. And also, I didn't have a working airbrush at the time.
If you own the rights to it, I don't see why you shouldn't go ahead and try to make some $$$ from it. The style and characters are pretty much timeless, so you could potentially sell some prints/postcards/posters etc. every year, as soon as Halloween comes around.
By the way, I forgot to mention, but I also like the sense of depth in this. Due to the lighting/projected shadows, and the many layers, the various characters and details really "pop out" at the viewer.
