This is a shot of my Celestia plate after its final fire...mother-of-pearl luster in place. The luster is a bit hard to see in a photo, but I think you get the gist of it. I showed the plate at FurFright, and everyone seemed to like it. I got many suggestions for doing new plates, where to post them, where to sell them. I'm so happy so many folks stopped by my table to look at it on display. Thanks go out to
chiaroscuro for buying the plate and letting me keep it on display for the rest of Sunday.
Porcelain 10" plate, china paints, 1200 degrees, six fires.

I'm not going to directly request it, but I'll echo a suggestion: make a Luna-only plate before you make a Luna/Celestia plate. The single biggest subculture within brony fandom is the Luna fanponies. It can get seriously daft, really...but it makes for really good sales.
(Me, I'm looking forward to the howls of despair coming from the weirder end of the Luna fandom once her actual starring episode - a Halloween episode, yet! - airs this weekend and Josses a giant chunk of their worshipped-over fanfic. )

Hmmm. Be cautious about that, because of a) the fanaticism of the Luna fannies, and b) canon.
(Basically, the Word of God, i.e. Lauren Faust, is that Nightmare Moon wasn't Luna, but some sort of evil magic that came over her after she let it in out of jealousy. Think "Venom" from Spider Man. And Luna fans get real, real sensitive if you conflate the two - I've seen it in action all too often on Equestria Daily. I expect that after the Luna episode airs this weekend, alot of that will be further clarified).

Or you can do them separately! Nightmare Moon has her fans, too, but her fandom isn't nearly as wide-ranging as Luna's.
And it's okay that you haven't watched them. Here's a little backstory to the whole mess:
The exact nature of Nightmare Moon vs. Luna isn't really apparent in the episode itself. The only clue is that when Nightmare Moon is rainbow-blasted out of existence, the shattered pieces of - something - are lying around the newly revealed and extremely apologetic Princess Luna. The short conversation she and Celestia have - that all is forgiven and that Celestia missed her terribly - created such a crapstorm (OMG, Celestia banished her to the moon for a millenium then has the nerve to say she missed her?) finally caused Lauren Faust to clarify that the two weren't the same, and hinted that Celestia banished Luna/Nightmare Moon to the moon because she had no choice - the Elements of Harmony wouldn't work for her any more. Lots of folks are hoping that Luna finally gets to tell her own story in her episode this weekend!
