Eleventh in a series of comparative image charts.
I wanted to do this chart with five examples of furries from the community who I've met that I believe match their animal character, with comparisons either with their same species in the column below them, or parent species. (Row 3 Column 3 excepted) In order from left to right, is
Tydus,
StandardDeviant,
greaseyote,
hotrodwolf1989, and
OokamiNoAme. Their species: Silver (Snow White) Tiger, Husky-Coyote, Coyote, Wolf, and Arctic Wolf.
I chose two bengal tigers, both ethnically Indian, as comparisons for Tydus. You can see they all have the long face, crooked nose (the crook is in the center), similar eyes, hairstyle, and facial stubble. Tydus is German Indonesian: with there being Indonesian tigers, especially in recent history, there is easy plausibility for his species match.
StandardDeviant says he's a Husky-Coyote mix; he's 1/4 British, 3/4 Chinese, with a half and half parent, and a full Chinese parent. A coyote is the combination between a fox and a hare/rabbit. If his mother was a coyote due to being fox on her British half and rabbit on her Chinese half, and his father a dog (husky), there is a possible logic to him being a husky-coyote. Below him I listed two Korean Jindo dog examples, as the closest dogs I've identified so far that look somewhat like Huskies. However, to identify him properly, we also have to look at coyote examples.
To Standard's right, I have Greaseyote as a coyote example, as well as a friend who I've identified as an original bred coyote (fox/hare parents). I think the main thing in common is the wide flaring nostrils, making for a wider nose, as well as a slight bend in the nose. Also, although Standard shaves, note the similar outline in hairstyle between all three coyotes. I am not sure of Greaseyote's ethnic background, I just remember when I met him for the first time he was talking about Jews and Native Americans. =)
Hotrodwolf has two parent species as comparison below him, bobcat and rooster. Wolf species I think diverge depending on the dominance of one parent or the other; the wider the face, the more Bobcat dominance, the thinner the face, the more Rooster dominance. With Hotrod, we can see the wide bobcat face, but also the red face of the Caucasian rooster.
Next is OokaminoAme, an arctic wolf. He is a mixed Korean/Caucasian heritage; since Korea has many avian species, his Korean half is likely rooster. Therefore his mother was a bobcat; the combination still results in wolf, in this case an arctic wolf. The first picture is from a year ago; the second from Califur this year.
I bring this up because I believe during adolescence, our two halves cross and begin mixing on the other side. In the first picture, it's almost like looking at two half faces; the rooster half, and the bobcat half. A year later, and Ookami's face is more symmetrical, and looking like a wolf. Note in all three examples of wolves, including one of my WoW friends below Ookami (who is bobcat dominant; his brother, also pictured in chart X, is rooster dominant), have prominent cheekbones, a somewhat thin nose that's a bit wider at the end, with a slight crook. Roosters have thin noses with a thinner jaw; bobcat noses are wider, and they have a wider, circular face, with a thick jaw. The Chinese rooster at the bottom is an example of an Asian rooster, to compare with Ookami.
