right now, in middle of one energy crisis, our 36 windmills are helping my city a lot -altought o course only produces 10% of the energy we need. Here we have very few contamination problems, because in a territory who could have SEVERAL millons (3,10, 20, more of you want) in my province we are only 600.000 =3 (270.000 in my city). here are still a quite clean....
in the past. he had storms of winds of 3 weeks, even with 170 kms/h of CONSTANTLY wind. but now, are esporadic, and the wind up there usually varies into 30 to 100 kms/h, so fortunatly the only problem is obtain the $ to build more. the plans talk about 100, for now are 36
Those are wind-storms!
Here in North-Central USA the states of North Dakota & South Dakota nearly always have constant winds of at least 35 kms/h. Good for windmills. Stories say that in the 1880s the constant wind would drive a few of the early settlers mad. For the settlers coming from areas with trees and calmer weather, the noise of the wind around the crude cabins would not allow some of them to rest or sleep.
But 35 Kms/h is not 100 Kms/h! Wear earphones, dingopatagonico!
That wind must be hard for aircraft take-off and landings!
