I actually started out intending to draw a supremely derpy panda, based on Cassie, the adorably derpy red panda at the Toronto Zoo, who I find to be the third most adorable and derpy animal on the planet(the first two being my cat and my bunny).
I started with the face, and as I sketched it out, I realized it didn't look derpy at all, and that it actually looked sort of annoyed. Rather than changing it, I just kept drawing, and waited to see what would come of it. This is the result. I am actually quite happy with it.
