I continue to test the methods of using layers to give depth and substance to my sketches. Perhaps unwisely I also attempt using something besides a simple flood fill for the basic color of a shape. The result is almost as convincing as the anatomy is based on a real squirrel, which I admit, might be better if it showed proof that I have actually seen squirrels.

Doesn't really need to if you have the ability to 'expand selection' or similar. When I draw my comics I ink with anti-aliased brushes but then I do my color fills on another layer with magic wand then expanding the selection by 3px. Paintbucket is set to 'current layer only,' et voila.
However that is still a terrible way to color because it is very lazy. I'm just on a ridiculous self-imposed deadline.
