Halloween commission from
strawberryneko
Megan the faerie rabbit pauses on her journey to look back and smile at you. But don't be fooled. Megan is one of those bad faeries who delight in causing trouble and chaos and she is not to be taken lightly.
Okay, so this one will take a bit of explaining. I don't have any plans to actually turn Megan into a faerie, though I may revisit the idea from time to time. If only to see her in that lovely dress again. In future, she'll likely have a nice pair of dragonfly wings too, but since this was small commission I just left them as the stumps you see at her back here. But this is mostly meant to be the first step toward something I've been planning for a bit better than a year now.
As I've mentioned before, I'm a big fan of the Child Ballads, and one of my favorites is Tam Lin, in which a young woman rescues her love from the Queen of the Faeries on Halloween night. It probably sounds a bit silly, but I've always wanted to commission someone to draw the scene from the end of the ballad, where Tam Lin is finally rescued. So here we have the Queen of Faeries, or at least her Earthly stand-in. Not quite what one might have expected, but I've always rather liked the idea of playing the villain.
That said, enjoy the picture and don't worry. Megan might be a bad faerie, but I'm sure she could be persuaded to leave you in peace with the right sort of gifts. Tasty flowers and good wines are always accepted!

Thanks to
luthiennightwolf who reminded me how much I always liked faeries of all kinds, and I hope I'm not treading on your territory too much.

It is a gorgeous dress. Red looks really good on her, I think, and of course I've always been quite fond of fire and fire imagery. Not to the point where I'd ever do anything naughty with it myself! Naughty faerie bunnies aside, my admiration for fire extends more toward its constructive uses than its destructive ones. But you never know what mischievous faeries might do! As far as gifts are concerned, all you'd need to bring is yourself, and the only thing you'd need to worry about is if you'd ever be let go!
I'm glad you like it, but all the credit goes to
strawberryneko, who drew it. I just commissioned it. I only wish I had this kind of skill with art.
