Alliteration! c.c So I've done a few pony customs now, and been wanting to do one of my own OC. Problem is, she's an alicorn, and I didn't want to base her off a Celestia toy or cannibalize two regular G4 ponies to make her, even though I kind of like the new toys... So I'm building her from a G2 pony body with a LOT of modification. This is my second attempt at wing sculpting. It's a little better than last time, but I'm still not all that great with it. G2s didn't have horns or wings, so I've had to add both. I also modified her feet to get rid of the G2 feather foot stuff, and covered over the eyes so I can paint on new ones. G2 ponies had little jewels stuck in their eyes, and it just looked weird.
At this point, I'm thinking of dremeling off the ears and sculpting new ones farther back on the head. The modeling compound I used (Miliput) needs sanding, and the whole thing needs at least one more coat of paint (this bait started out butterscotch colored). I might make a collar for her neck to give it more of a G4 feel. It's kind of a frankenmonster of a pony, but I'm fairly pleased with my current progress. XDD
I am not currently taking any sort of commissions for custom ponies, because I am SLOW and I do these for fun alone, and to de-stress. Also the amount I would have to charge to actually make anything off these is ludicrous.

Well, the sculpting compound cost me about $10 and it took most of the box to do this... Umm, probably in the $40 neighborhood to prep and sculpt a bait like this. It's a stupid amount of work to get the head off and pry 20 year old glued in manes out of these ponies, especially since the G2s are such narrow designs. The pony I started with looked like one of these:

Dunno about the other generations, but the G2s survived boiling just fine. Supposedly that's a good way to harden your sculpting if you work in polymer clay, instead of baking the entire pony to harden it. I'm very much liking how the Miliput turned out, though, so I think I'll stick with the two part epoxy type clays.
