starbears are oviparous and lay eggs. hardy creatures, they grow through out life and feed on mosses and tiny arthropods. both males and females nurse young. starbears originate from around one of the major stars in the big dipper, also known as the big bear.

social structure: matriarchy, each years' offspring is given a large communal dwelling of it's own, communities average from 20 to 40 individuals with an about equal number of males and females.
food and feeding: simple mosses, arthropods
mates and mating: they lay 1-3 eggs once a year, mate year round' and are polyphillic. (they do not pair off for life) but raise all offspring as a group. there are gay, lesbian and hermaphrodite starbears, but they are no lesser in the community. generally starbears are matriarchal, however sometimes a duo or trio will keep the community organized.

these two are special, since they hatched together. there are many mutations starbears can have, most such hatchlings do not die or even seem particularly troubled by their conjoinment, any more than those with different colors or tails. it's accepted in their society, and they are provided a little extra care to be comfortable.
