Well looking at it closer I can tell that it is in fact a sweater and I don't think it is the coloring or shininess. Perhaps a little fuzzy texture, you know the poofiness sweaters get here and there might help. Other than that I think you did a pretty good job!

Oh noes digital talk...I don't have any clue on digital art and it's techniques, odd considering I have a Wacam tablet that is huge given to me by my mate, but I have no patience with it. Can't get the control I am used to with color pencils. Blending might help though

Try to put a piece of paper over the tablet and draw on it. Or even canvas. I think the surface of a tablet is WAY too slippery. XD

Well control was perhaps the wrong word, I can't get the fur textures and details I can in color pencils. Still with practice maybe I can turn out something halfway decent, til then you shall kick my butt at digital along with  silverfenrir

I can smell the mountain air seeping through my monitor. :9 Love the cleanness of the lines and the sort of relaxed/tired pose. You said somewhere up there that it takes no skill to find a fitting photo, but it actually does, I think. You’ve got to make sure the horizon line isn’t too low or high, or the character in the foreground will look like they’re falling towards or away from the viewer. Also, there’s the light source and colour scheme to think about, too. Seems to fit very well.

Also, I feel a little silly for commenting on something over a year old, but it's awesome.
