He lived the beginning of his life crammed into a cage with other rats in a store that had employees working in the department who were scared of rodents.
I'm pretty sure I was the first human contact he's gotten except for the movement around when his cage was cleaned.

I use gloves so I don't accidentally drop him when he bites. Though he has stopped most the biting.
I also encourage people who come over to hold him as well if they're not scared of rats. I want him to be use to people. He's young, probably a few months so he has a lot of time to grow and I have a lot of time to work with him.

Most of my rats were ignored store rats. its ok. He'll warm up. I never got bit by mine so I'm not sure what to tell you. hold him for a little at a time and start bare handling him so he doesnt get used to the gloves.

yea, I'm down to only using one glove and going bare hand with the other. He is a lot less skittish and comes to the bars of the cage when you get close enough.

I love ratties ^^~ He looks so cute. The more you feed and handle them the better disposed to you they become. I just lost both of mine to old age so i was really happy to see some one else takking good care of theres

He's warming up slowly. I have no intentions of giving up on him and once I can I'll be getting a larger cage and another little boy so he can have a friend.

Ii spoiled my little babies rotten >w< They didnt even sleep in there cage at the end of there life. But thats cause they were well potty trained. Rats are if not as, than almost as intelligent and well domesticated as cats. t here great friends.

I had a bitey store rat before also, they'll come around with a bit of love and determination. :3

I wasn't going to actually get him but I had too once I noticed how much smaller than the rest he was. The bigger rats kept stepping on him.

Havin' a lil friend around his own age can also help him to feel more secure and safe if he doesn't already have one. :3

I need to invest in a larger cage before I get him a cage mate.
