I'm not quite sure why he wanted dog choker chains instead of the oval flat links in all of his art, but that was the parameter for this project - chokers.
The problem was, the links were supposed to slide through the ring on the cuff, but then there is nothing to keep the cuff from falling off as the chain loosens on its own.
Enter the solution: a snap open spring ring that looks solid.
These are now flying through the post on their way to what I hope will be a very happy new owner :)
Anything leather from art can be made tangible, with enough patience and skill by the crafter. Sometimes what works in art is impossible in the real world, but it can be faked. I am a big fan of MC Escher, and he's a master of making unreal look real. I am glad I was able to make these, they were quite the challenge from a design standpoint. Technically, they were not that complicated... wait, yes they are! Look closely and see if you can spot how the chain is attached to the cuff pad.
