Wrote some poetry for my creative writing class.
its not very good but I figured why not upload it :P
A Storm and a Ship Wreck
The shore was littered with the splinters of the bow
The ship sighs and come to rest on the sand bar,
The skeleton of the ship was a shell of the glory it used to be
The wreckage told the story of the storm that took so many lives.
The hull is cracked and held open revealing the hallow cavity that was once full of life and laughter just the night before.
The crew left their stations for food and drink none looking out over the dimly lit horizon darkened by foreboding clouds.
The navigator laid down his sextant and stared at the waves
The captain fell asleep at the wheel.
As the ship pitched from the first wave, all the men rose to their feet.
As the skies closed up and blocked out the stars, the navigator looked towards the horizon to find a sign of land.
As the thunder clap lit up the pitch black seas, the captain awoke and tried to gain control of his ship.
All the men panicked
All the men fought the ferocity of the storm
All the men were swallowed up one by one by the sea and so satisfy it’s never ending hunger
The masts crumpled and burst through the deck
The ropes ripped free from their lines sending barrels cannons and lanterns spiraling away through the winds.
The ship lays silent and still, only the waves crashing on the shore give life to this scene of destruction
Not one body washes up on shore, no evidence of life remained
Except for the barnacles still clinging to the bottom of the wood as it broke away and fought each other for the shore.
