Meet Nema. Another character from a story that has a great concept, but I don't have the patience to write. She's a lizard, which should be obvious, and a female, which might not be as obvious. Because of her species, she doesn't have to wear a shirt. ^^ I found that funny.

Nema grew up in an abusive household with her father, who beat her frequently for not being the "perfect little girl." She was rescued by her older brother, who took her away from their father when she was nine. As she grew, she became more and more defiant and independant. She was a tomboy, and one who chose to screw her brother over at every turn. She eventually left the care of her brother to try and make a living alone the day she turned thirteen. She moved from city to city by means of hitchhiking, though eventually ended up on the streets at fourteen. It was then when she was given shelter by a kind and quiet old widow by the name of Elizabeth Dane, who fortunately asked few questions of her past. While in the care of miss Dane, she became a delinquent, committing not-too-serious crimes, but building up a name for herself. Nema was a good girl in the eyes of Elizabeth, though the old woman did not overlook her misdeeds. Nema stayed with her for five years, working several jobs so that she could pay for her own food, for the things she wanted, and eventually pay back Miss Dane for her kindness. At nineteen, she found herself a boy, Elijah, who seemed nice and safe. But, it was Elijah who tricked Nema, and murdered her in the most gruesome way imaginable, and I'll let you think what you will about that. But that wasn't the end for Nema, oh no. There was something much greater in store for her.
