It's been a while since I've drawn my main character. This is Knux Kitsune. I've been trying new things with SAI and I think this is a culmination of all I've learned.

Yeah, I got an HP TC1100 just for art. Being a traditional artist for many years, I didn't want to have to disconnect where I'd draw and where I'd see it, so I decided a cheap tablet PC or even simply a drawing tablet that can transfer image files on it to PC and after exploring several different options including the Always Innovating Smartbook and the NoteSlate, I eventually decided that a used HP TC1100 would be the cheapest, most PC-compatible choice. I actually feel like I lucked out since for under $200, I got the tablet, keyboard attachment, and leather carrying case. The ebay seller stated that the battery only lasted 5 minutes, but I've charged it and had it running on battery for over 2 hours. It came with Windows XP Tablet Edition, but I'd upgraded it to Windows 7, which seems to work better for a tablet interface. The program I use is Paint Tool SAI. I'm still learning the ins and outs of SAI, and doing this piece, I found that I can actually do color and grayscale shading on the same layer using Multiply at about 30% while doing it, then toning it down to 10-15%, but that will be implemented in my next drawing. The color and grayscale shading are on two different layers in this pic. I couldn't figure out how to make the lenses transparent by selection, so I ended up putting them on their own layer which I made transparent, then copied it down a layer...so...yeah. Any tips?
SAI is the best program I've used for drawing. It has a few features similar to Photoshop, but SAI is overall tailored for drawing with a tablet. I've also tried Paint.Net and Gimp, but SAI is just better, and the new version runs nice and smooth on my 8 year old tablet pc.
1: it was ok, but i'm used to PS elements. (for the things I do)
2: I don't own a tablet and using a mouse isnt fun for drawing. lol
3: it don't have many things I use (dispite it has alot of stuff already.
4: my comp is broken (which I doubt I'll see again)
