Is it wrong that the first thing I noticed was the building in the background and not the doe?

That's what I was realized after I finished inking all of the detail on the background. The amount of line work on the buildings is so dense that it sort of draws the attention from areas where the line work is less busy. I'm eager to see how color will affect this piece.

I think that'll be resolved with color, so don't fret?

I wouldn't consider it a bad thing, it shows a great deal of skill to make a castle that complex (and cool looking) look good.

Yay the inks are done! She looks great, especially with that expression. And the background is spectacular. Though I can't help but imagine a bunch of guys glued to those windows across the way with telescopes.

LOL! I'm sure Kaneshia would have no idea what all of the telescopes were for and would be puzzled as to why so many guys are taking up stargazing as a hobby.

Thanks! I'm getting a little better handle on what traditional Ventallian architecture will look like (although it seems that most forms of architecture on Cervidia involve tall buildings with steep-sloping roofs).

Lovely lineart, as always. The mountain houses in the background are really neat, and the dripping wax looks pretty realistic. The jewelery is quite pretty too.
