Van, or Vanity, is my hedonistic bastard of a character, but I love him. He's half-selkie, half-water dragon. He inherited most of his physical traits from his dragon father, but he inherited his hair colored and the Selkie skin 'curse' from his mother. His normal form is a crocodilian water dragon, but he can remove his 'skin' like a Selkie to become human, although he retains the tail. His skin takes the form of a silk and crocodile skin robe. The rings in his tail form a collar around his neck if someone else owns his skin.
His dad gave him those scars because he would not allow Van to leave the nest until he could steal his skin back from his father.
