Finally got off my arse and drew something...
And it's definitely the best drawing I've ever done, although I went and ruined it for the internet by scanning it by camera (complete with flash).
The inexpert sepia tone made it slightly easier on the eyes.

What sort of camera do you have?
If it lets you change the White Balance I highly recommend NOT having it on Auto as this tends to absorb the electric lights in my room and making the picture a deep yellow color. With my Canon Power Shot I can select a point in the view to use as the white point and that often works well enough.
Playing with the F-Stop and other settings can make a difference too, but the first thing you should try is adjusting the white balance.
