The day is done
The moon shines bright
You've taken your bath
The mood is just right
With warm jammies on
and eyes half closed
You stretch and you yawn
while wiggling your toes
Reality shifts
As you lie down in bed
Each shadow and light
putting different thoughts into your head
The pillow draws you closer
as many thoughts become one
Your eyes now close
From this world you are gone
All's different now
What could not be now is
You're lighter than air
There's no other feeling like this
Flashes of memory
Moments of insight
Take you to places
Not seen between dawn and twilight
And when you wake
The very next day
These wondrous moments
Seem to all drift away
Do not despiar
Nor try to comprehend
As it'll all come back to you
on your next trip to dreamland
