Just as I was about to upload the first pic I got this idea in my head, and 4 hours later, here it is. I and sure not the queen of the photo edits or anything, but it feels more at home then I thought it would. The redrawing the extra bits that didnt exist was about 30 min. Coloring and shading about 3 hours. And editing and trying to make the shadows look anywhere believeable 30 min. To make it even better, this is a shot I took in the middle of Akihabura, where if you are going to find girls in cosplay handing out flyers, it will be here. Tell me what you think!

Looks really good - even the shadows of the characters line up with the people!
I remember going to Akihabara while I was working in Tokyo a few years ago, like the rest of Tokyo it was an interesting experience being virtually illiterate of the signage and stuff :) I also recall that the third main language on multi-lingual signs in Akihabara was Portuguese - apparently there's a lot of cross-over between Japan and Brazil of all places!

The reason you've got that is because Portugal was one of the first countries that did a lot of trading with Japan early in its history, mainly because they didn't try to cram a religion along with their wares. Eventually they got kicked out, but not before a lot of words were imported from Portuguese into Japanese.
