Since you guys were interested :) Here's the recipe. If you want you can share your recipes here or in my journal :D :D :D
I dunno if this recipe is well known or not because I've NEVER looked for it on google XD I just know I make it ever year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. So. Let me know how you like it if you try it :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First of all bake the pie crust first.
1 and 3/4 cup scalded milk
5 tablespoons of flour
dash of salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
teaspoon of vanilla
half a cup of butter
~~~~~
For topping - 1 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 cup peanutbutter
Mix the powdered sugar and peanutbutter until it's all crumbly.
save for later
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seperate the whites from the yolks.
beat the eggwhites with 1/4 cup sugar util nice and fluffy. If they don't fluff try adding some baking powder but just a little bit. This will go on top when the filling is finished.
In a pan scald milk
in another pan add dry ingredients
slowly add the milk to the dry ingredients
cook until it had thickened.
Then take a bit of that and add it to the egg yolks so that when you add the yolks they won't scramble. Then add the yolks back into the mixture.
Then add in the butter and the vanilla
~~~~~~~~~
Now you add half of the the crumbly stuff you made with the powdered sugar and peanutbutter into the bottom of the pie crust. Then you add the filling. Now on top of that spread on the fluffy eggwhites. Then on the top add the other half of the crumbly stuff.
~~~~~~
cook on 350 until the crust is browned on top I don't usually time it but you'll be able to tell >> it will be noticably browned on top.
