Founded in 1871 as St. Pierre DePaw (male, skunk) College, the school later had its name simplified in 1921 to DePaw University. The arena was named in honor of Father Leonard Regal (male, lion) who while chaplain of the university, founded the school's basketball program in 1917 as their first head coach. While the Musketeers have never seen a Furry Four, they were runners-up in the 1st FCAA National Championship game (the F.I.T. tournament back then) in 1946. The farthest they've gotten since then though was the Sweet 16 in 1961 and 1990. The school is based in Vincennes, IN
