I was on a trip these past few weeks and got the urge to draw Liz Bandicoot (from CTR) so I did so in Inchworm Animation Studio on DS.
If you're unfamiliar, it's a DSiWare download for about $10 or so that lets you draw and animate with a photoshop-esque interface complete with layers and a variety of tools. Pretty cool!
...until you try to do something big with it and realize there's a ton of bizzare quirks with it. For example, there is no way to select and move a piece of the image as it automatically makes a copy when you try to. The scissors icon is actually "copy" and not "cut". Select All only selects everything on screen. There's a max of 6 layers and no way to merge layers AT ALL which makes coloring a bitch. I litterally could not find a way to color Liz's outfit in this pic on the DS. I had to wait until I got it onto my PC...which was an adventure as the image didn't want to export normally so I had to export 3 separate screen sized images and glue them together.
Damn shame. The DS could use a good art program and Inchworm came SO CLOSE!
Ah well...
