FA... why don't you have a category for coyotes? D:
This is Krylies, who is commonly called Mr. Krys. He is the ever elusive black coyote. I kid you not, black coyotes exist. They are a rare sight at the time of this story (this coloration is sort of rare today). Krys's personality is important to note because his boss is a very eccentric fellow. This coyote can be lazy, and do the bare minimum for anyone that isn't his master. Despite this, he appears to be very professional, yet when he's alone with those he trusts the most he's almost completely different.
Despite working for his master for hundreds of years, he still can't understand the reason behind his master's actions most of the time. Now, you maybe wondering what kind of work he does. To be truthful, it's anything his master wishes. Recently, he's been told to be a butler, but in the past he's held an array of jobs. His first job was being a drummer.
This character has roots in Aztec Mythology, the drummer that accompanies Huehuecoyotl, which is who Krylies works for and the father of Adagio and his brothers. Huehuecoyotl and Krylies have a strange relationship that can vary from a humble servant serving his master to old war buddies to a father and his child. No, the two cannot have a typical relationship... it's impossible.
This character is ollld, yet no matter how many times I write about him, he's been a servant with varying masters... and black. Hm. I do like his current design... it's reminiscent of his current profession.

Agreed! My mother used to work in retail and had to call people to pay their credit card bills, needless to she had some colorful stories to say the least. It can be very hard to stay professional in some situations. Mr. Krys's trick is that he does the bare minimum to get by, unless Huehuecoyotl is giving him a command.
You don't know how much this comment made my day! It never bothers me! I'm also flattered at that fact that people like the back stories I give my characters. I've had this guy for awhile and just got to making him a reference sheet. And as for expressions, that means a lot! In fact, the expressions on the ref sheet are my favorite part of drawing these! I can tell you that I get most of my expression ideas form watching Sponge Bob, lol. The artists capture the exaggeration of expressions perfectly, though most of my characters don't call for those kinds of expressions it still comes in handy!

Aww I'm glad to hear I made your day; I love seeing your new submissions in my inbox, I've taken some time to look over each and every one since watching you
The expressions from animated cartoons are great, I can see how watching SpongeBob could help an artist, haha
Your art style reminds me of CulpeoFox and Skia a bit, mostly because of their parchment looking backgrounds. It would be really cool to see more anthro sketches from you though, I think they would be very lively looking
Aaand I have no clue why there's no coyote category on here either!

Thank you!
I watch Sponge Bob and Looney Tunes... and reference real life, lol.
Hm. I've never been compared to other artists before, so I honestly don't know if that's a compliment. Though, I do have an idea that would go with the monochrome color scheme of the character. A grey background will do wonders for this! Also, Anthros take a grasp of human anatomy I haven't fully obtained. And trust me, I do have anatomy books on my shelf when the inspiration strikes. Nonetheless, thank you for the suggestion! And, please don't feel bad for my reply, if anything you helped me!
No, sadly there is not. I had to toss Krylies up there in the General-Canid Category, lol.
