This church was burned down during the Russian Revolution in 1918, and was only recently rebuilt in 2000. This is one of the grandest churches in all of Russia.
I'm very upset that I could not take photos of the interior (you have to check you camera at the entrance) because it was the most beautiful interior of any building I have ever been in. Gigantic murals and paintings of different biblical characters and Russian saints. I could not even dream of the words to describe it all.
