I get accused of copying/tracing sometimes...
so this is just to show how I do things when using references :3
Also, I did a nice background
Total time: Between 6-7 hours
I had dinner during this time, but got a head-start by having the reference at hand :3

It might be the same pose, but it's not copied
for example, the mane isn't the same line-by-line and there are no highlights in the "reference"
the shape of the shoulder... the extra teeth... the nose shape... pretty much everything has been re-drawn to the way I see Scar
and of course the background isn't going to be the same - I did it
not just some copy-paste/photo-shop job
I do know that references don't normally work this way
but, how else am I meant to portray my techniques?
It's no good having something people don't recognize as a subject, they have nothing to compare it to
that's why I found it appropriate to pick a scene from the movie.
for example, the mane isn't the same line-by-line and there are no highlights in the "reference"
the shape of the shoulder... the extra teeth... the nose shape... pretty much everything has been re-drawn to the way I see Scar
and of course the background isn't going to be the same - I did it
