Such is the nature of being a vampire. Upon his turning he was overcome by his newfound bloodlust, killing his wife and son with his bare hands before he realized what he had done. He has killed many a deserving soul, some in incredibly violent ways, and yet on the other side he has loved enough for several lifetimes, even finding a second partner 200 years after his turning before she too passed away of old age. Residing in solitude in a church on a hill Allen is often well controlled, but not always.
