Roo Plush Revived
I like to hit up Goodwill and check out the plush selection. Once in a while I'll spot a roo design that I don't have- which is what I ran across here. I've never seen this one before. It was made for Animaland in 2005 by NanCo.
It's an adorable little roo about 17" tall complete with little pawpads.
But she was tired little flyer. Completely limp. She couldn't stand up on her own.
When I got home, I did a bit of surgery and some clothesline aluminum wire to create a bit of stiffening structure inside the polyfill critter. A "U" shape upside down goes from one foot up and over the hips to the other side. I bent the ends into small hoops so they won't poke out of the material.
Another length went from the top of the head to the tip of the tail.
Now she's fully supported and even posable. I could add more wire for her handpaws, head and ears, but she doesn't need it. It's neat being able to pose the tail in a curl, and move the legs out to the sides in a nice 45 degree pose. She's much more stable and upright.
A little snip, some wire, and sewing fixed her up quite nicely. My total cost? About $1.50 for the plush and wire.
She's so cuuuuuute!
