If she was holding a gun, I would say a display of firepower, but that doesn't make sense in this case. While she isn't showing off, it's more of a display, like an ad for the local order of holy warriors. The kind that says "This is the kind of person we employ. Are you sure being evil is what you want to do?" Something of that nature, anyways.

"What emotions do you think the artist is trying to convey with this piece?"

I would have to go with confidence. She seems rather sure of herself, and her body language is also saying that. Be it her body or her prowess in combat; she does not doubt herself whatsoever. I would say proud, but from the crosses all over the picture, I doubt it would ever reach the point of pride, due to it being a sin.

"What do you think each character in this piece is representing?"

She is a holy warrior of some sort. While she isn't exactly dressed head to toe in armor, and her weapon seems more like a tombstone with a handle than an actual weapon, fantasy art does allow for some liberties to be taken, yes? She looks like the person that would be called for when the dead start to rise, and the kind of person you want nearby when demons start finding their way to the material plane.

I'll level with you, I wasn't sure how to reply to this post for the longest time as I was a bit bowled over by the amount of time and effort you out into it and felt, personally, a felt little too stupid to give a reply of any worth. So now I've been totally disrespectful to you and sat on my ass for ages saying nothing.
First off, I have to say, she's not my characters and I was given strict guidelines for her armour to follow, so I'm just going to reply to elements that I added personally.
To be perfectly honest, you managed to sum it up pretty damn perfectly, you're spot on with the points that you've mentioned. Especially the confidence, if you're going to go into battle with armour missing in such important places, then you have to be damn sure you're not going to get hit there.
And thank you for putting so much time and effort and thought into this, it makes for an amazingly refreshing change. Not that I mean to sound ungrateful to the rest of the people who comment on my work, because I’m grateful for people just looking, but that was pretty damn amazing!
