Hence my user name, Valveman! MOST people I know call them tubes, but lets face it, Valveman sounds better than Tubeman, right?
Here is my latest project, the Killovolt I tube guitar amplifier! This is based around a 4-250A transmitting tube. It's a single-ended class A amplifier. Now you may (or may not) be thinking that class-A amplifiers have no power. Well this one puts out a healthy 75 watts of clean power! With 1,500 volts on the plate, it's a beast. Also, it weights about 80 pounds. Also, it has tremolo, reverb, and a magic eye tube for a VU meter. That's the green glowing one in the bottom left-hand corner.
I completely designed this amp myself. It is built almost entirely from scrap parts, and I wound almost all the transformers myself. If you want to know more, check out my Livejournal page:

W00t I'm so jealous!
My best sounding amp is one I built myself, too. Two 15" 60's era speakers and a repurposed/ rewired Bogen P.A. amp in a custom case. In fact you can see it in my video of me playing out in the middle of the desert. The bass is nice and warm. The P.A. uses a tube rectifier, too, so it stays nice and fuzzy.
On a side note, my Hickok 539B needs a new main meter. Any ideas on where to get one for under a mint?
