A follow-up to "Mountain Bike Boggin", here I depict Tatiana in her outfit without the thick layer of grime she acquired plowing through an axle-deep mud hole. Or maybe into--it's not clear that she actually made it through, but that's a future pic. For now just gawk at the spandex. Or the specially-engineered helmet made to accomodate her ears. Or the accurately rendered cycling shoes (Pearl Izumi "Quest MTB II").

Technical:
I won't say too much about the bike as much of it was done from memory--it was only intended to be a prop (and the pic wasn't supposed to take as much time to color as it ultimately did) so much potential detail was either simplified or hidden behind Tatiana here, like the pedals, chainwheels and sprockets. Initially I wasn't even going to draw in the spokes, but at the last minute I decided that I was going to be asked about that and pulled a pic from Google Images and traced their spoke pattern into the pic. Yep, the tire tread is a bit exaggerated, but look what she was doing with them :). Oh look, now I've gone and written more about the bike than the centerpiece of the pic 9_9.

(I accidentally penciled this on the back of Leana Pencil test so I may wind up inking and coloring that bust shot in order to preserve it)
Pencil on bristol, vector-traced in Inkscape, colored in Micrografx Picture Publisher 10. 9 layers(excluding logo and attributions), 174MB at full uncompressed size.
(oh by the way, in this usage, "chic" is pronounced like "sheik")

I don't believe I haven't commented before now (been out of it lately I guess)
Well, I gotta say a serious Wow on this one. Nice bike, nice pose, and nice DETAIL! Yeah not going to get technical, really, no you always get technical, I don't think you can not do technical RailRide. The bike is sweet save for that front brake cable It cries out for a zip tie somewhere to hold it in place heh heh heh and oh dang that seat looks so painful (well right now any seat looks painful to me But still looks pretty sweet. I like the color, but the two tone 'paint job' like that of "Mountain Bike Boggin' "is more my style!
I agree with the clothing, bike shorts rock like that, and they actually look like they've got some fabric to them. I've got a pair from a few years back that have a liner and a jel pad that lines the crotch and rear (Seat contact area) That took some getting used to, but its been well worth it considering the style of bike I usually ride (hard tail)
I'm a little modest when it comes to cycling jerseys however and generally go for a long sleeve light weight shirt, sometimes t-shirts too, I wear jerseys too, just not often anymore, no point in getting something so bright and colorful when by the the next time I ride its not so pretty anymore. The washer does a good job n all, but well my shirts have stripes. The bright original colors are on the outside, such as arms and sides, but the center line, back and front, is usually a dingy tone, and really isn't cool. Cheap Wal-mart shirts work well for this.
Oh, and those shoes, yup they kick ass, I think I'm going to get myself a pair of them for the season, pending I'm feeling better for it by then. Its still hard for me to even sit on a bike seat without cringing a little.

I would like to see child's shoes sinking away in a hot tar goo pit, and then melting away... search some here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/shoef.....h/50527553771/
