The speeder is part of their weed control 'system'. Unless the speeder failed in some way I'd wager they still have it. They tend to make a penny squeal by how hard they pinch them at this railroad.

Ahhh, I love this place. The best thing about it is that it has hardly changed since the time of your photo. This past winter when I was there, an RS23 was out playing :P

That is a nice roundhouse. I've been toying with trying to model the MNNR in O scale, but nobody makes an O scale RS27... yet... ;)
