since its been 3 years since my last post I figured I should post something :P
This is my attempt at making a Fennec. I'm making it for a friend of mine(the same one i made the last fox suit for). The head isn't quite finished yet. I still have to put the teeth in the mouth and I would like to try airbrushing it. Though I'm kind of afraid of screwing up the airbrushing and ruining the head :/ it will have a body eventually.
anyone here know much about airbrushing?
I mostly just want to blend the colors a little bit and maybe do around the eyes and nose. I do have an airbrush but I suck at using it.
also there is something about the eyes that doesn't look quite right to me, but I'm not really sure what.
feel free to critique it

The fur is gorgeous! Especially inside the ears.
The eyes grab it by the loins and drag it straight to the darkest recesses of the Uncanny Valley. They probably need to be bigger to be proportional with the head, and farther apart. They might need a little more expression, too, even if the style is realistic. Maybe the airbrushing can add more definition to the brow?

Don't airbrush on your final project until you've practiced on scrap pieces! Practice practice practice! Don't touch the paint to the head until you've practiced the technique on spare pieces of fur to see what the result is!
Another option is to simply drybrush it. Use a dry paintbrush, no water, and tap a little bit of paint into the bristles of your brush and lightly stroke it onto the fur until you get the effect you desire, just apply the paint with a paintbrush. Practice on spare fabric first, too!

Its very easy, the technique itself like any new technique, just needs a bit of practice and you'll get the hang of it!
I prefer drybrushing myself. All the suits I have created have drybrushed accents. Although I have an airbrush and compressor, I choose drybrushing because I have more control and no chance of overspray or need for masking off my area.
