It's official. Sculptris is fucking win on a stick.
Hoping to finish the full body on this one; Not sure what I want to do with him yet, just kind of winging it here.

For that, she will need an external software like blender or 3ds max or still maya because of retopologized needed.

Yeah, wings are on the menu as well ^_^ Though as much as I'd love to make a game, I have no idea where I'd start - I have no knowledge or software for any kind of 3D venture, aside from this newly-acquired Sculptris :P

lookin good! does sculptris always have the seamline down the middle? sorry ive never used it, zbrush and maya is my thing lol

well, sculptris does that seamline but there a problem : it use a large amount of triangle because of tessellation technology. by the way, i'm a zbrush user since last February :D

woo! zbrush all the way! and yeah the tessellation is great for computer processors, but for anything else i think it's kinda just a bad idea. retopo is NEVER fun. XP

very true ! speaking of retopo, did you know that in zbrush 4r2, the problem with it is now fixed :D

well, it was already send to every zbrush user that they bought :) and yes, i did bough my software for my birthday, definitely worth ! :D

one more time : all the upgrade are totally free even when you did have zbrush 1.23b ! so, it mean for example : you get zbrush 4 but didn't upgrade it until you have zbrush 10 got released. you can upgrade it for free without any cost !

Oh yeah. I got my zbrush with a student discount a year and a half ago :3 thank god it wasn't 4 grand like Maya lmao

I'm definitely considering saving up for a zbrush license now; it'll take a while though. In the meantime I think I'll be happy just painting/modeling - going to try an asymmetrical project today :3

Ever play Diablo? This looks like the Lord of Terror's younger less serious cousin, the Lord of I Just Peed Myself a Little.

Still awesome. Wish I could sculpt without blowing up my ram.

But yeah, I've been a fan of Diablo since waaayyy back in the day - I still play D2 from time to time, and I'm so looking forward to D3 :D
And He does have a bit of the lord of terror's influence, indeed, though honestly I was just kind of playing around with the sculpting tools and didn't have a particular design in mind.

I still have my original D1 disc, perhaps one day you and I shall join steel on the battle moors of D3?

Also, checked out Scultris because of this... Sculpting is a tough thing for me because I'm so bogged down with technical measuring, maybe I can try it and see.

I'd so be down with playing D3 with ya :D I can hardly wait for release, the crafting thing makes me go all *squee* inside, and the fact you can play any class as either gender. No more being restricted in my play because I want to be a chick :P

And I found Sculptris very intuitive, and it's relatively lightweight compared to other 3D programs I've looked at - though the ram load really depends on the project; it can get pretty high on polys with very little effort. But I THINK that can be remedied a little by lowering the "detail" slider on the brushes, but I haven't done much with that so I could be wrong on that.

The first thing I did was run a footprint check. Sculptris wins by a landslide.
