Well, this is certainly different. A centaur-pegasus. In a kitchen, no less. I haven't drawn either of these, so this is a first on a couple of counts. But not quite--I'll get to that a little later.
This is
koopacooper's 'Windrunner', having a spot of trouble in the kitchen. Seems a jug of cooking oil has fallen from the countertop and blew it's cap off on impact, making a big slippery mess on the tile floor. A mess that Windrunner didn't notice before getting all four hooves in it. Last time I checked (which is 'never'), horses don't do so hot on hard slippery surfaces. And apparently neither do centaurs, winged or not :)
Now, I haven't made a great leap in drawing human faces. Not even anime-style ones. My efforts in that regard still fall somewhere in the Uncanny Valley. This artwork...or at least Windrunner herself, was drawn by another artist on commission. This effort ended prematurely owing to a lack of experience drawing four-legged creatures, so the only result was a pencil sketch. In purple, no less. Thus begins the "not quite".
It was at this state that it fell to me to attempt to finish off what another had started. But first came some improvements. As you can see here, there were some substantial problems with those legs. This pic shows the corrections I made with the help of a special issue of ImagineFX magazine devoted to anatomy (both human and animal). With the corrections penciled in, I traced the pic in Inkscape, giving me all sorts of smooth, curvy, sharp vector line art. Then I exported a suitable sized bitmap and colored it according to a ref sheet originally done by bbmbbf, followed by a complete kitchen backdrop and merging the two, adding some skidding, splashing "Whoa-ah-ah-ah"-ing effects before packaging it all up for delivery.
So there you have it. I guess one could say that between the (as-yet unreleased) "Lady Liberty" pic and this, I've actually drawn a pretty-close to non-anthro horse. Just not all at once. Maybe this will become helpful down the line when I draw some (cough)ponies :D

Yay! ^^
Winni should've really looked more carefully at where she was putting her hooves...now she's in a slippery situation indeed. I wonder who could've been so careless as to spill that bottle of cooking oil on the floor?.... (heh heh...) :D
RR, this may not have been a complete pic since you had a sketch to work from (in purple, no less! ;)), but you still did an amazing job with the work that you did on it. I would take my hat off to you, if I had one. ;D

I was just randomly browsing FA and I came across this. I'm glad you managed to find someone to finish this for you. I'm actually surprised you kept hold of the sketch all this time, considering my feeble attempts at pegataur anatomy. I hope you're happy with the final result. =)
Yeah, I loved your sketch! ...in spite of the fact that I know little about anatomy myself. :)
Sorry, when I put this up I meant to send you a note that same night to tell you that I'd got it done and uploaded, but my sister arrived for a visit that evening and has been here all weekend, so I didn't get back online 'til just now. (She's actually not leaving 'til tomorrow morning). :)
