After this track went out, some comments were that it was a bit too packed, or that it sounded better before distracting melodic stuff was added in, and I rathermuch agreed, so much so that I just made a version with all the melodic-ness removed.
So here, have some stuff that's pretty much the culmination of all that drone stuff I built up to over the past while.

This is interesting to me, because while I can totally see where the comments about the original feeling too "packed" are coming from, and the de-melodied version definitely brings a lot more of the ambience to the forefront of the song, I'm not sure I'd be able to say which one I like "better". They are both quite good, and even though the melody may make the original seem a bit more busy, I also feel like it's not really "in your face" and that it complements the underlying ambience nicely in its own right.

To be honest, I think I like this version more, really. The melodic bits were only added after I'd already gone through and fleshed it out to the extent that it is here, and I was just sort of afraid that people wouldn't really go for it unless I put some semblance of a lead in there. And then that sort of developed into putting instruments for each exile...but still, I didn't like it too much.
