The fur, I've worked with Lightwave and the hair pos-processor sucks so much time out of the render. How much longer did It take you?

I used minimal fur for this model to reduce rendertimes, but with SSS and image based lighting, a 2000x2000 render still took 2 hours and I'm running it on a 9.6ghz quadcore.

Psst, he startled me with that number before too. It's actually a 2.4GHz quad core, he's just adding up the speed of the separately tasked cores.

Actually, unfortunately, a 2.4 GHz quad core has four cores with .8 GHz of power each. Thus, a non-hyperthreaded i5 Quad-Core versus a hyperthreaded i7 core, the i5 would run faster since 3D programs don't deal well with hyperthreading but work well with multiple cores.

The original plan was to have full fur, but that seemed to make the renderer crash.

Things really do look worse with the new Gumby fur you've switched to. How much of a hardware upgrade do you think you'd need before you could stand to make stuff like this? http://einom.furaffinity.net/view/6576140/

I'd need a hell of alot better than what I have now. But honestly, I use simplified fur because it's better for animations. My animations are typically 640x480 and high detail fur just looks like fuzzy blobs in that resolution. Any higher res often takes way too long to render- Also, it's an artistic choice too, because She's not meant to look girtty and vicious

the fur between chest is not fitted well.. it would be better if non.. and need niples..
