I'm all for brain augmentation in dogs... not sure how useful cybernetic eyes would be in a dog... but rather than augmentation say if the dog lost an eye... how bad ass would say a British Bull Mastiff be with a cybernetic eye? terminator dog!

It's a pretty sentiment, but it strikes me as Disney-esque unrealistic. Don't dogs typically have a "whatever the alpha/owner does must be right" mind-set? You ever heard of a dog suddenly turning on its owner because they were disciplining a second, weaker dog? And what is a potentially painful surgical procedure to a dog, beyond some kind of punishment they aren't sure why they're getting?

Or maybe I'm wrong. I like psychology, but I don't have any formal education in it. :P

Brings back memories of the Shadowrun RPG too. Cyber tended to cause dogs to become mentally unhinged, any runner worth their salt would rather face paranormal fire-breathing Hellhounds than cybered dogs on a mega-corporate security force.
