In my world, elephants consider cutting their tusks or applying some sort of cap to be a really rebellious way of body modification, and the elephants have to go to someone else to get it done.

I mean, yeah, I guess that's pretty dorky. But I totally follow you.
Body mods on anthro people would be so much different from regular humans.
For example, I really can't figure out how something covered in fur could have visible tattoos.
but if that were the case, it would look a lot weirder on animals with long hair
or they shave the tattoo free on a regular basis.
come to think of it, shaving patterns into the fur might count as body mod, too, hm?
