Well, I finally went through with it and bought myself a Bamboo pen tablet a while back. As of now I'm looking for a coloring technique that works. First try was rather simple with cell shading. Similar to how I used to do digital work several years before. This is also the first time in four years I've ever used a tablet. xD

For the lineart, I used Inkscape to trace the lines using the calligraphy pen tool. I guess I don't have to use an ink pen on my sketches anymore. The lines came out pretty smooth for the most part. ^..^ In time I hope I can trace with a steadier hand.

Coloring and shading was done in GIMP. Not perfect, since this is just a practice run. I think I'll go for smudge-style shading for my next practice pic, try to perfect a technique closer to my traditional colored pencil style.
