I took the time to color this piece because I was finally able to put some time into randomly coloring things again...and chose to randomly color this first.
Many people are still surprised that I chose these colors for him.
I think they're rather becoming. <3
I'll spruce it up later, I sorta 'hurried' through this one, but still put effort into it.

 I plan to return to it soon and add something in the background.
Honestly, I'm not too terribly good with backgrounds. I tried putting together one, and I still can't get the hang of it. I always get a funny little white line around him that I can never seem to get rid of, so it always makes it look like a cutout when I try to color something behind him :[
I'm still horribly medeokre(sp?) with photoshop.

What I normally do (sometimes forget) is I take the character when I know i'm done with it and merge it all, copy and undo merger... paste it on the highest layer, then alpha blend it. ^^ You can take away that outer line... it's a pain in the ass, but it creates a better image with a background when it's done.
I also recommending using a flourecent green background when you are doing this, it will help find what you have missed. ^^

:smiles: Thank you! Took me a while to figure out a good color to put for the cloth underneath the armor. Wanted to go for a brown, but I had already used that color for the belts, so I just toned it down and made it a bit more of a dull color, and it really brought it out.
I was originally gonna make every piece black...but that would've made it rather, flat. So I mixed up a bit of a deep gray. To finish it off, a deep purple for the cape and tasset. Really made it 'pop'.
Thank you! ^^

The colors, though dark, are quite attractive. Black and purple make a rather nice pair, Ocarina of Time has shown us this with it's use of purple as a substitute for black in certain instances. And the old dark gray color makes for an excellent "well used" look on the sabatons and other small bits of armor. :3
