Unlike most alternate home venues, the Riverfront Auditorium was the original home of the West Burlington BlackHawks until the Garland Arena was constructed in 1989, mainly as the Auditorium has been a very multi-use arena being owned by the city whereas Garland Arena is University owned and controlled.
