Did these for Livestream and was going to finish them later on but after evaluating the designs, I decided it wasn't worth the time.
The designs don't make any sense, the shapes are not consistent which makes it look like each part of the body has an armor piece that does not belong.
And the armor is way too unrealistic, they all seem exaggerated and might even look unappealing.
Basically, failed concepts.
I'll need to make more believable pieces ASAP. >:D
Check LS for recording =]

I still really like the first one. I can see what you're saying with the second one, since the upper legs and head have a frayed, wild appearance, but the boots and chest are smooth and refined. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing though, to have non-matching armor. The last one seems like a mix between the two.
There is also absolutely nothing wrong with exaggerated armor--it's pretty much standard in fantasy to show that characters are wealthy and/or their armor has multitudes of +1's. Unappealing but plausible-looking armor is great for villains and nomads.
If you wanted believable and flawless equipment, you could draw a t-shit and jeans and sneakers. But, that wouldn't be nearly as interesting.
Nice work on all of these, anyway! Was great to watch.

I know that fantasy puts an emphasis on distinguishable armor however, I'm trying to find a balance between exaggerated and realistic designs. I need to do more armor studies in order to achieve that.
By believable, I meant having the armors have a consistent pattern like a brutal large charr with spiked and sharp pointed armor that adds more character to its bellicose nature. Right now, these armors seem just like a place holder and the anthro-lion is a manikin.
But thanks and thanks for watching =]

I think they look alright but the tail needs more detail and better position (not too sure on that)
Also the torso and arms need some fixing as they look a bit unconnected but I actually do like the armour designs.
I can't really give much more advice/redlines beyond that because I still really suck at anatomy and I don't know much about armour design >.>
sad that I missed the livestream, would really love to see how you work :)

The tail was still in its sketched phase and I stopped working on this piece before I got the chance to work on it.
And yup, the anatomy is incorrect but I emphasizing more on the design instead of the technical features in these concepts.
Thanks for telling me though, it's greatly appreciated and if you want to see recordings, they should be up.
Hopefully I'll do another one soon~

Good news! The armor designs in Guild Wars 2 don't make any less sense than these!
I noticed that when I was studying one of Kekai's concepts. In fact, most of the concepts aren't practical. That kinda urks me.
Now that all that is out of the way, these concepts show three unique and understandable options for armour/costume, so they are a success, even if you think they look a bit silly. :)

Thank you very much for the comment, you made this image less degrading than before =]
And yes, I really like Kekai's armor designs because they look "bad-ass" but after looking at some armor studies, I can't find an explanation for some of the armor placements. But it seems appealing enough for a game concept so I'm fine with it. =]
