I sketched this out during a meeting at work.
One idea I've had in the back of my mind for a while has been a furry 'tribute band'/'cover band' going by the name of Darwin.
They focus on 'furry themed' songs; such as Freebird (lynrd Skinnard), Hungry Like the Wolf (Duran Duran), Runaway Horses (Belinda Carlisle), Octopuses' Garden (The Beatles), The boids are back in town (Thin Lizzy), and on transformation themed songs; Roll With the Changes (REO Speedwagon), Victim or the Crime (Grateful Dead).
Aside from some planned 'guest vocals,' most of the band is fairly nebulous, no real characters developed to fill the roles. What I have so far is as follows:
Eric Adler (eagle) - keyboards, male vocals (mostly 'harder' songs, in style the Meat Loaf and Sammy Hagar )
Wendy Oakborer (woodpecker) - guitar, female vocals ('hard' vocals, like Bonnie Tyler performing Jim Steinman songs)
Ashley Fenix (firebird) - woodwinds, female ballads (her rendition of 'Eternal Flame' comes with her own fireworks displa)
And that's the list so far. If I get around to finishing this pic, it'll become a 'publicity still' of Wendy belting out 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' with Zig Zag in back providing backup vocals. (I can't help but think that skunk has a voice as sultry as her body.)
I think that's enough rambling for now, especially on a scrap piece that nobody is even going to look at.
